Organising records for a cross-border investment review

A practical way to assemble the chronology and documents behind an investment or remittance.

Start with a chronology

Record proposed or completed transaction dates, parties, instruments, amounts and currencies. Separate facts supported by records from assumptions requiring confirmation.

Reconcile the supporting documents

Compare agreements, bank advice, corporate approvals and earlier regulatory submissions. Flag differences rather than silently correcting source records.

Keep reporting evidence

Retain acknowledgement numbers, submitted forms and correspondence with the authorised dealer bank. An acknowledgement by itself should not be treated as confirmation that every substantive condition is satisfied.

Explain the question

State whether the review concerns a future investment, an existing reporting issue or a proposed change. Permissions, filings and remedial steps require transaction-specific evaluation.

General preparation guidance only. The relevant facts and current requirements must be reviewed before taking action.
